SOMETHING TO SEE IN PORTLAND

Built by Oregon pioneer and founder of the Oregonian, Henry Pittock, Pittock Mansion was home to the Pittock family for more than forty years.  The City of Portland purchased the estate in 1964 and after months of restoration, Pittock Mansion was opened to the public.

The architect, Edward Foulkes, incorporated Turkish, English, and French design.  The estate included 4 buildings on 46 acres perched high above downtown Portland.

Pittock Mansion had many early century hi-tech innovations including a central vacuum and intercom.
